Freedom

Ace of Swords! Getting this card for today tells me that I am moving forward on my path, physically as well as mentally and spiritually through the actions I perform in this world. Actually it is not just this card, but many other things in my life that are happening right now that lead me to this conclusion. The Ace of Swords (Ace of Spades!, Ace of Spades! – See _Motorhead_) is merely a sign that I am on the right track and I appreciate the message.

There is a little bit of a catch twenty-two in that action binds you to this world, but at the same time action – the same action that binds effect to cause, can also be used to separate the cause from the effect. In-fact, this action is required for this separation to occur! This may seem strange, but it actually makes sense if you are looking at things from a truthful and ultimate perspective.

There is one action that leads to total freedom from all other action, namely the act of liberation. That is a great secrete of this world: this is the chance to re-unite with the Almighty One. As a human on this planet, nothing else is able to do this except for us in this life. That is why this world is so important; it is the only chance to be re-united with the Creator.

All of the plants and the animals. All of the trees and the rocks. All of the laws of physics, the shining of the Sun, the reflection of the Moon. All of the stars in the sky, all of the people on this planet. All of the things that exist are all here to support and flow through and towards this single and ultimate goal. To realize union with the divine.

This union happens very rarely, or so it seems. But it is sure to happen to every single person on this planet, both past, present, future and beyond. This is very sure to me and it is a fact that eventually, although actually just a blink of an eye, everything will be re-united with the Almighty One. This is sure because, in reality, we are already united with it. We are the Creator. For there is nothing but the Creator. The very idea that we are separate from it is a mere hallucination.

This hallucination is caused by ignorance of the truth. The ignorance from the truth is what distances us from this realization and from it comes all we see on this planet. Everything we experience in our lives, good or bad comes from this ignorance. The Hindus call this ignorance ‘Maya’, the great magic trick. We are all born into this world through Maya and we are removed from this world through wisdom. By learning to control ourselves, we learn to control the Maya, and eventually we escape the illusion and discover the truth.

Everything is already known to us, we have merely hidden it from ourselves. We must put in the WORK to un-cover that which we have covered. What a glorious world this is when we discover the truth. When we discover that there is no right or wrong, no good or evil, because we see that those things are relative to each other and rely on each other. There is a great bliss that comes from true and utter freedom. There is a great peace that arrives when we understand our true position in this world. Go out and do action not for yourself, not for this world, but for God alone do everything!

Mythologies

It is amazing to me the similarities that I have seen between different religions. These similarities also span over the course of 5,000 years. For me, there is no way that there was not some connection between these groups of people who possessed and created these religious myths and stories over the centuries.

Today, for my tarot card, I pulled The Tower. As I was meditation on the meaning of the card the story of the tower of Babel came to mind. This is a common connection to make when using the Ryder Waite deck because of the actual image of a tower on the card and, of course, the name. On earlier sets, the number 14 card shows a tree being hit by lightning. That seems to make more sense to me based on the true meaning of the card and I can understand where the connection would come from as seeing lightening was, and still is, a very memorable and frightening occurrence that most all humans have had.

In connection with the tower of Babel story, I started to think about the fact that there are so many of these myths from all different cultures but many of them have the same topics, the same mythology only written with different symbols. Although, to the ordinary interpretation the stories may seem vastly different the reality is that the stories are so similar that it cannot be coincidental.

What occurred to me was that the tower of Babel myth was attempting to explain the ‘scattering’ of the peoples across the earth and the resulting language difference that resulted. Language is just like myth in that it clothes thoughts and ideas using symbolism in order to facilitate the communication of that idea. So, according to this interpretation, the languages or ‘tongues’ mentioned in the story could be construed as the myths and stories themselves. That would turn the tower of Babel story into one that describes the movement of symbols throughout the myths. With one untied mythology, man was too powerful and, so to speak: “knew too much”. So it was made apparent to the people that they where all saying different things, even though they where actually saying the same thing. This is a form of Maya used to make this happen. The people became ignorant of what the other was saying and saw difference where there was none.

As a side note, this manifestation of apparent difference, illusion, Maya is the exact thing that the government is using in this age to control the masses. All of this naming of groups creates definitive and definable positions which can be used to produce action among the population. One should always be on the lookout for this trickery. I wrote a little about this in yesterdays post.

Now what all of this says about the actual tarot for my day, I have a feeling there is little of use here. But as far as thinking broadly, it really makes for some interesting meditation. Today I was also reading some stories out of the Bhagavata Purana and there where so many stories and myths that I can see paralleled in other religions. Especially Christianity, which is the religion of my parents and of which I was raised. All in all Christianity is a wonderful religion; it is the religion of love and peace on this earth and for that it is one of the most noble. However, in my day to day run in’s with people, I have found it to be a religion mostly hijacked by personal interests and social moires. It has also been highly used in the political sphere which makes the surface appear tarnished to me. There are many people that are pure God lovers and righteous people and Jesus is a very important prophet of God.

No matter what you believe. No matter what religion you serve. Even if you support no religions whatsoever. May we all keep in mind that the differences are only apparent and if you want to see the truth look within yourself. You will find that all the things that you think are external are actually internal, you will also discover that there is no difference. Everything is united and the same, it is only through the trick of Maya, the ignorance that we have placed upon ourselves and have the power to remove, that makes us think that we are different. Do not fall for the trick, know that love is the only thing that exists because we are all in divine union all the time. All we have to do is realize it.

The more we grow…

“The more we grow in love and virtue and holiness, the more we see love and virtue and holiness outside.” – Vivekananda, Inspired Talks p.526

This is a very wonderful quote that I read in one of my books. It struck me as the most beautiful thing and I thought that I would share it along with some thoughts that I had. The more we grow in love, the more we see love in the world. That is the basic maxim of the quote. The outside reflects the inside. What you see on the outside, what you think of as being outside, comes from within you.

Taking the thought a little farther, there is an essence, a truth being said here. The truth being that we create the world we see around us. This is not directly saying that everything we see is really just inside of our own heads. We are obviously, each having an experience, but that experience is essentially singular. There is a collective consciousness but it is not the result of our individual minds, it is the CAUSE of our individual minds. That is very important to remember. The stream only flows one way.

So in this way we are all collectively generating our existence. Each one of us being the part as well as the whole because the connection to everything being one is inherent. We are like a million eyes, creating the universe. Creating light through the eye. That too is a very strange and sacred idea that may not be understood by everyone. The idea that the eye is the thing that causes light to be. It is easy to mistake the effect for the cause. Even though the cause is always unaffected by the effect, the effect still has an inherent connection to the cause but this connection can only flow one way; from the cause the the effect, not the other way around.

On one level we can understand possibly the relationship between the mind and the world around us. The world around us is the result, or the effect of our minds cause. If we grow out selves, grow TOWARD ourselves. Then we will always be creating something that is closer to our true selves, the universal truth which is love. By coming closer to the truth, we cause an effect in the world that is also generated closer to the truth. This generation is like starting a fire with two sticks. You rub them together and they slowly build up heat and eventually, in one moment, a flame appears. This is the same thing that happens inside during this moving toward ourselves, or “the more we grow in love…”.

Even if we are not trying we are generating this world, affecting it. Some people are able to effect things more easily than others, all according to their capacity. Eventually everyone with gain independence from this Maya through complete realization and experience. There are others who are actively working in their lives toward the supreme goal. Those people have a choice. They can work the right-hand path or the left-hand path. The right hand path is the correct path, the one that brings you closer to the supreme goal. The left-hand path is the path that brings material treasures. It brings things down from above, the other end of the circuit if you will. Both paths are the same, neither really good nor bad. But the EFFECTS are different, that is the key.

The closer we get to the ultimate reality, that we are all one and that everything is one. The more that we move towards the love and virtue and holiness, the more we will succeed in our mission. In this worlds mission. If we concentrate on love then love will appear. If we concentrate on virtue, virtue will appear. If you concentrate on holiness, then you will become holy. If you become any of these things, then you will spread them like a fire and others will become loving and virtuous and holy. Even a little candle can fill a room with light.
